The week of september 23-27 marked spirit week for the coming homecoming dance and games. Whether you participated in this five day even or not, you were sure to be surrounded by fun costumes and school spirit!
The Homecoming celebration kicked of with disney day on monday, a theme that would be present in the pep rally as well. Students were encouraged to dress as a Disney characters , including pixar, star wars, or any franchise owned by Disney. There were dalmations, lilo and stitchs’, and mickey and minnies roaming the hallways. Even teachers participated, like the science hallway collaborating in a 7 dwarfs group costume. With the help of staff, teachers, and students, Rossview was transformed into disneyland for a day!
Following Disney day, was Tinker Tuesday, a day dedicated to celebrating the age old idea of never growing up. Rossview was filled with old people and young people. Onesies and pigtails were very popular attire. But, cardigans and canes were still a way to celebrate this day.
Wednesday brought on some competitive spirit between the classes. Freshman in white, sophomores in yellow, juniors in red, and seniors in black. The 4 classes were at odds, and clearer than ever with their contrasting clothing. This competitive spirit helped aid an exciting and VERY LOUD pep rally.
Back to costumes! Wednesday’s theme was Heroes v. Villains. “Are you good or evil?”, was the question on everyone’s mind. Best friends and couples dressed on either side of the spectrum, and large group costumes were ever present. Costumes that students were in included the incredibles, DC and Marvel characters, and many more exceptional outfits.
This fun and exciting week came to a close with the student body showing their Hawk pride. Rossview was an ocean of red and gold. People adorned in tutus, rossview merch, and paint (sorry teachers)! If you were at the friday pep rally or football game, you would especially see these colors. Good job Rossview, for making homecoming week a week to remember!
